Terms

Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Benlottejnr Apps when you use VerseFlash. Effective May 20, 2026.

1. Who these terms are with

These terms ("Terms") govern your use of the VerseFlash desktop and web applications, the VerseFlash website at verseflash.com, and any related services (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Benlottejnr Apps ("we", "us", "our"), a sole proprietorship.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use VerseFlash. If you're between 13 and the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed these Terms and agrees to them on your behalf.

We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts. If you believe a child under 13 is using VerseFlash, please contact us at [email protected] and we will close the account.

3. Your account

  • You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account.
  • Keep your sign-in credentials secure. If you suspect unauthorised access, contact us immediately.
  • You agree to provide accurate information at sign-up and to keep it accurate.
  • One person, one account. Don't create accounts on behalf of someone else without their consent.

4. What the Service is

VerseFlash provides real-time speech-to-text transcription of audio you capture through your microphone, plus automatic detection of King James Version Bible references quoted within that audio. The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use - typically by preachers, sermon attendees, church streaming teams, and individual Bible study.

The Service includes a free allowance of 3 hours of transcription per calendar month per account. Use beyond that allowance is capped at the monthly limit, or - if you opt in - covered by the paid Premium tier (£12 per calendar month for 12 hours of transcription per month). Pricing and tier structure may change with reasonable notice posted on verseflash.com/pricing; you'll always be told before a change affects you.

5. Bible-text licensing

  • The King James Version (KJV) Bible text used by the Service for scripture detection and display is in the public domain.
  • You may freely read, copy, and share Scripture surfaced through the Service. Our Service's structure, code, design, and the transcripts and detection metadata you generate (described in Section 7) remain protected as described below.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for anything illegal, harmful, or fraudulent.
  • Capture audio of a third party without that person's knowledge and consent where local law requires it. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to record any audio you transcribe with the Service.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service except where applicable law permits.
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to interact with the Service, or stream audio that is not a genuine real-time microphone capture (e.g. looped or pre-recorded audio at scale) for the purpose of evading usage metering.
  • Bypass rate limits, security mechanisms, or access controls.
  • Upload, save, or share transcripts that are unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing, infringing, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Severe violations may be reported to law enforcement.

7. Your content

The audio you capture, the resulting transcripts you choose to save, and the scripture detections produced from those transcripts ("Your Content") stay yours - you retain all ownership rights. By using the Service to process Your Content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, store, and process Your Content for the sole purpose of providing the Service to you (transcription, scripture detection, session history). We do not use Your Content to train models, share it with third parties beyond the processors named in our privacy policy, or surface it to other VerseFlash users.

You confirm that Your Content does not infringe anyone else's rights. We may remove content that is reported as infringing under our DMCA policy.

8. Our intellectual property

The VerseFlash app, website, logo, brand, source code, design language, and all original content (other than public-domain Bible text and Your Content) are owned by Benlottejnr Apps and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service while these Terms remain in force.

9. Notifications & communications

From time to time we may send you transactional emails to the address tied to your Google sign-in (deletion confirmations, billing notices if you move to a paid tier, security alerts). You cannot opt out of these while your account is active because they are essential to the Service. We do not send marketing emails.

10. Service availability

We aim to keep VerseFlash available 24/7 but we don't promise uninterrupted service. We may take the Service offline for maintenance, upgrades, security incidents, or reasons outside our control. We don't owe you a refund or credit for downtime that occurs on the free monthly allowance. If an extended outage materially affects paid Premium-tier usage, we will apply a fair pro-rata credit at our discretion.

11. Termination

You can delete your account at any time via the delete-account page or by writing to [email protected].

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately if you breach these Terms, if continued access creates risk for us or other users, or if required by law. Sections that should reasonably survive (intellectual property, indemnity, disclaimers, governing law) survive termination.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, THAT EVERY SPOKEN WORD WILL BE TRANSCRIBED ACCURATELY, OR THAT EVERY SCRIPTURE REFERENCE WILL BE CORRECTLY DETECTED. SPEECH-TO-TEXT AND LANGUAGE-MODEL OUTPUT MAY CONTAIN ERRORS AND OMISSIONS.

VerseFlash is a sermon-transcription and scripture-detection aid, not a substitute for personal Scripture study, theological counsel, pastoral care, or an authoritative record of what was preached.

13. Limitation of liability

13.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence, (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or (c) any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales.

13.2 SUBJECT TO CLAUSE 13.1, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BENLOTTEJNR APPS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

13.3 Subject to clause 13.1, our total aggregate liability for any and all claims arising out of or relating to the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the total amount you paid us during the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. If you have not paid us anything during that period, our liability is limited accordingly.

14. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Benlottejnr Apps harmless from claims, damages, and costs arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will:

  • Update the "Effective" date below.
  • Post a notice in the app for material changes.
  • If the change materially reduces your rights, give 30 days' notice before the change takes effect.

Continued use of the Service after the Terms change means you accept the new Terms.

16. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the courts of England and Wales, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

If any part of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision.
